ICAI's Announcement No. 13 schedules the CA Foundation January 2027 papers on 3, 5, 7 and 9 January 2027, each starting at 2 PM. Papers 1 and 2 last three hours; Papers 3 and 4 last two hours.

There's a free day between papers, which shapes the final week: you revise one paper at a time, the day before you write it.

What CA Foundation January 2027 tests

  • Four papers of 100 marks each: Accounting; Business Laws; Quantitative Aptitude (Business Mathematics, Logical Reasoning and Statistics); and Business Economics.
  • Papers 1 and 2 are subjective, with written answers. Papers 3 and 4 are objective.
  • The objective papers carry negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
  • To pass, you need at least 40% in each paper and 50% in the aggregate of all four, in one sitting.

More than 80 days left

Finish the first reading of all four papers from the study material published by ICAI's Board of Studies. Mark each chapter done, weak or unread.

41–80 days left

Close out any unread chapters in the first two weeks, then start the first full revision.

For Accounting and Business Laws, practise writing full answers by hand against the clock, because both are written papers. Revise the Quantitative Aptitude formulas and Economics concepts on alternate days so neither goes cold.

16–40 days left

Run a second revision alongside ICAI's Mock Test Papers and Revision Test Papers, written under exam timing: three hours for Papers 1 and 2, two hours for Papers 3 and 4.

Check every mock against both pass rules. A comfortable aggregate doesn't help if one paper sits below 40%.

4–15 days left

Plan the exam week paper by paper. Do a quick third revision, giving extra time to the paper you're weakest in.

For the two objective papers, practise timed sets so you finish within two hours, and review the questions you lose to the 0.25 penalty.

Last 3 days and exam week

Revise only the paper that's next, using the free day before it. Keep a short sheet of formulas, sections and formats for each paper.

Papers start at 2 PM: check your admit card and the centre route, and keep mornings light.
