NTA's exam calendar puts JEE Main 2027 Session 1 on 22–24 and 28–30 January 2027, with 31 January kept as a buffer day. Your own date and shift arrive later on the admit card, so treat 22 January as the day your countdown runs out.
Session 2 isn't scheduled yet: NTA's calendar only runs to March 2027, and in 2026 the April session ran from 2 to 8 April. If you write both sessions, the better of your two NTA scores counts, so Session 1 is a real attempt, not a rehearsal.
What JEE Main 2027 tests
- Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech) is a 3-hour computer-based test with 75 questions for 300 marks: 25 each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
- Each subject has 20 multiple-choice questions (Section A) and 5 numerical-value questions (Section B).
- A correct answer earns 4 marks and a wrong one loses 1, in both sections. A guessed numerical answer can cost you marks too.
- If you appear in both sessions, the better of your two NTA scores is used for the merit list.
- These are the 2026 rules. NTA confirms the 2027 pattern in its information bulletin, which isn't out yet.
Your JEE Main 2027 plan by days left
More than 100 days left
Finish first coverage of the chapters you haven't started, and keep a list for each subject of chapters done, weak and untouched. That list decides everything after this point.
If you're in Class 12, school tests and board preparation will start taking weekday time, so fix your daily JEE hours now rather than hoping they survive.
61–100 days left
Stop opening new heavy chapters unless they are high-scoring for you. Split each day between one weak chapter and mixed practice from chapters you've finished.
Take one full paper a week in NTA's format (75 questions, 3 hours) and go through every wrong answer, numericals included, since they carry negative marks.
31–60 days left
Move to two timed papers a week. After each one, sort mistakes into concept gaps, calculation slips and time lost, and fix the concept gaps first.
Revise formulas and reactions from your own short notes, not from new books. CBSE's 2027 boards are expected from mid-February, after Session 1, so Class 12 students can leave board revision for the gap between the two sessions.
8–30 days left
Alternate full papers with revision days. Keep a list of the question types you keep getting wrong and redo them every few days.
Settle your attempt order (for example, Chemistry first) and use the same order in every paper, so it's automatic on the day.
Last 7 days
No new topics. Take one or two light papers at your shift's time of day, then revise from short notes.
Check your admit card, the centre's location and the documents it asks you to carry. Keep your sleep time fixed: a late-night cram before a morning shift costs more than it gains.

JEE Main 2027 me kitne din bache hain?
The counter at the top of this page shows it and updates every day in your browser. It counts to 22 January 2027, the first exam day of Session 1 in NTA's calendar. Your own date and shift will be on your admit card and can be any of 22–24 or 28–30 January.
When is JEE Main 2027 Session 2?
NTA hasn't announced it; its current calendar only runs to March 2027. In 2026, Session 2 was held from 2 to 8 April, so expect April and watch jeemain.nta.nic.in for the notice.
Is 100 days enough to improve my JEE Main score?
It is enough to move your score if you stop spreading time across everything. Use the first weeks to close your weakest high-scoring chapters, then shift to timed papers and error review. Both sections carry negative marking, so cutting careless wrong answers is one of the quickest gains.
Should I write both JEE Main sessions?
You can, and NTA uses the better of your two NTA scores. Treat Session 1 as a full attempt; if it goes badly, Session 2 in April is your second chance in the same year.
Board exams aur JEE Main ek saath kaise manage karein?
Session 1 ends on 30 January, and if CBSE follows last year's timing the 2027 boards start in mid-February, so the two shouldn't overlap. Prepare for JEE until Session 1, switch fully to board revision, then come back to JEE for Session 2.
