CBSE hasn't published the 2027 date sheet yet. Last cycle, it issued a tentative date sheet on 24 September 2025 and ran the 2026 board exams from 17 February 2026, so mid-February 2027 is a reasonable expectation.
Until the date is official, this page counts to 1 February 2027, the start of the expected month, so the countdown errs on the early side. It switches to the real date once CBSE publishes it on cbse.gov.in.
What CBSE Class 12 2027 tests
- CBSE first issues a tentative date sheet and then a final one, after schools submit their final list of candidates.
- Most theory papers in 2026 ran from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
- Each subject's marks are split between the theory paper and practical, project or internal assessment, as set out in CBSE's curriculum for that subject on cbseacademic.nic.in.
- Class 12 has one main board exam a year, plus a supplementary exam. The second board exam CBSE added in 2026 is for Class 10.

Finish the syllabus in every subject, NCERT first. If you're also preparing for JEE, NEET or CUET, list the chapters the two overlap on and study those once for both.
Keep practical files and projects up to date now, so they don't eat revision weeks later.
61–90 days left
Start a first full revision, one subject block at a time. Work through CBSE's sample question paper and marking scheme for each subject, and notice how the scheme splits marks across the steps of an answer.
31–60 days left
Write full timed papers, a 3-hour sitting at the 10:30 AM start time, at least once a week per major subject. Check them against the marking scheme, not just the answer.
Revise from your own notes and the sample papers rather than new guides.
8–30 days left
JEE Main Session 1 (22–30 January) starts near the end of this window and runs into the next. If you're writing it, keep board revision light that week and pick it up straight after.
Once the final date sheet is out, plan revision around the gaps between papers: hard subjects get the longer gaps.
Last 7 days
Revise the first paper's subject in depth and keep the others warm with short notes. Check your admit card and centre details.
Keep your sleep fixed to the 10:30 AM start time so you're fully awake when the paper begins.
